As a major natural history museum, Beijing Nature Museum is mainly engaged in specimen collection, scientific research and scientific popularization in the fields of paleontology, animal, plant and anthropology. It has a collection of more than 100,000 artifacts, fossils and specimens. The museum has four basic displays and a Dinosaur World Expo. The number of large whole paleomammal fossils in the collection ranks second in the world. The Yellow River paleontological fossils and dinosaur fossils are famous at home and abroad.
