Renmin University of China is a research-oriented comprehensive university focusing on humanities and social sciences. It was the first modern university founded by the People’s Republic of China.

The campus has a beautiful environment with distinctive scenery in each of the four seasons. The landmark buildings of Renmin University of China include Mingde Building, Century Hall and the Library.

The library of Renmin University of China consists of two buildings, the New Library and the Collection Library. The New Library, completed at the end of 2010 and officially put into use in 2011, is an intelligent, informationized and digital library integrating collection, reading, exhibition, research and office, with a total construction area of about 45,000 square meters. In terms of functional layout, it embodies the concept of heavy, open, discreet and convenient.
