Beijing Forestry University is a national key university, one of the first "211 Project" key construction universities, and a world first-class discipline construction university.

As the highest green institution in China, the BFU campus is extraordinary in its scenery. The total area of the campus is 13,176 mu, including 696 mu for the main campus and 12,480 mu for the experimental forest. There are countless plants on the campus, such as tall ash and ginkgo, fragrant begonia and cherry blossoms. There are also a number of "hot spots" such as the Ginkgo Avenue and the Heart of the Forest.

Every November, the Ginkgo Avenue on campus is crowded with people. This is not only a gift of nature, but also a sentiment for BFUers. The Heart of Forest is both a university version of the Bacchus Garden and an excellent outdoor classroom. There are 174 plant specimens displayed on the plant exhibit wall, over 40 types of aquatic plants planted in the water landscape, and a plum garden and cherry blossom walkway on the green space. The park provides nature's wildlife while creating a platform for students to learn about plants, ecosystems, garden materials and landscape engineering.
