Labagou Nature Reserve is the only natural ecological scenic spot of primitive forest in Beijing. Labagou Virgin Forest Park is known as the "back garden of the capital" and the "natural oxygen bar". There are undulating mountains and thousands of hectares of forests here. It is located in the transition zone of coniferous forest and broad-leaved forest and broad-leaved forest, with vegetation such as oleander, mountain poplar, Mongolian linden, Liaodong oak, white birch, mountain apricot and wattle. There are many flowers in spring, forest sea in summer, colorful trees in autumn and silvery trees in winter. The average altitude here is between 700 and 1700 meters. The air is pure and the scenery is pleasant, making it as beautiful as a fairy tale.
Labagou Virgin Forest Scenic Area is about 170 km from downtown Beijing, with 70,000 mu of primitive secondary forest. The South Monkey Ridge, which is more than 1700 meters high, is the highest peak in Huairou District. On the mountain are dense poplar and birch forests. Under the trees are soft and deep grass mats. From time to time, there are roe deer, mountain chickens and hares.
There are three main attractions in the Labagou Virgin Forest Scenic Area.Shan Resort: This place is named after the famous ancient cliff carvings and the tall "Yishan Pine". In front of the villa of the resort there is a spring called "Shan Spring", and the water never dries up in all seasons and does not freeze in winter.
Baizhang Cliff Scenic Area: There are many landscapes in the scenic area, such as Casting Sword Peak, Pearl Spring, General Pointing Terrace. Besides, there are many jagged rocks and peaks.
South Monkey Ridge Scenic Area: With an altitude of 1,705 meters, this is the highest peak in Huairou District. When you look up, there are dense poplar and birch forests, and there are soft alpine meadows under your feet. There are "glaciers" that never melt, ancient pines growing on the cliffs and hanging rocks, and various strange peaks and rocks such as "Dharma Lohan" and "Suiren Rock".
