Cuihu National Wetland Park is located in the north of Shangzhuang Reservoir in Haidian District. It is the second batch of national-level urban wetland parks approved by the State Council. It is close to Mingfu Garden of Nalan Xingde, a famous poet in the Qing Dynasty, covering an area of 157.16 hectares. The park is 1.9 km long from east to west, 1.2 km wide from north to south, and has a water area of 90 hectares. It is divided into the closed area of protection, transitional buffer areas and open experience areas. Aquatic plant viewing area, fish viewing area, butterfly valley, bird watching tower, and other scenic spots are designed according to local conditions. In 2017, the park became an environmental education base in Beijing and a popular science education activity base in Shangzhuang Town.
