Famous Spots on Metro Line 16 | Jiufeng National Forest Park

2021-09-22

Jiufeng Forest Park is located in Xiaoxishan Scenic Area, Haidian District, 18 km away from the Summer Palace. It is a famous forest park in Beijing and an experimental forest farm of Beijing Forestry University. Dajuesi Temple is in its south, and Yangtai Mountain Scenic Area is in its north. If you look at Jiufeng Mountain in the distance, you will find the two peaks stand opposite each other, just like a vulture spreading its wings and being ready to soar high, which is very vivid and lifelike, and is where the name Jiufeng (“Jiu” means vulture and “Feng” means peak in Chinese) came from. Jiufeng National Forest Park is famous for its vast and dense forest, which is quite unique as it is not very far from Beijing. This 800-hectare park is a treasure house of green plants, with a forest coverage rate as high as 96.2%. There are 684 species belonging to 313 genera and 110 families in land plants, and this is the natural storage place of green plants.
