Yuandadu Dynasty Capital City Wall Relics Park, also known as the Yuan Dynasty Capital City Wall Site Park or Earth Wall Park, is built on the basis of the site of the Yuan Dynasty capital city, Dadu. It is an ideal place to learn the history of that dynasty. The city wall was constructed in 1267 and finished in 1276. It was abandoned in the Ming Dynasty. The northern segment of the city wall is preserved, and a narrow and long park was created around the ruin of the city wall in Haidian District and Chaoyang District. It runs in between and parallel to the northern sections of the 3rd and 4th Ring Roads. It is the largest band shaped park in Beijing with a total length of 9 km. Giant group statues of 19 historical figures like Kuhan, Imperial Concubine and Italian traveler Marco Polo represent the prosperity of ancient Dadu.
