Nanhaizi Park is one of the four outskirt parks in Beijing, with a total area of over 11 square kilometers after completion. The park is named after the imperial garden Nanyuan. Nanhaizi Park is located on the south side of the South Fifth Ring Road in the northeast of Daxing District, between Daxing New City and Yizhuang New City.

It is the first major ecological project for Beijing to implement the south city action plan. Nanhaizi is the largest wetland in Beijing in history. It is the royal hunting ground of the Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties and the royal garden of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
