The Beijing Planetarium is the first large-scale Planetarium in Asia. It consists of Building A and Building B. Building A was set up and opened to public in 1957; Building B was completed and opened at the end of 2004. Beijing Planetarium is a unique specialized venue in mainland China for popularizing astronomical knowledge to the public and teaching astronomy to teenagers. Its activities include starry sky show on the dome screen in the venues; exhibition and display of astronomic knowledge, astronomical instruments and cultural relics of ancient China; editing, publishing and issuing books and magazines on astronomy; organizing astronomy lectures, astronomical observation and knowledge contest, etc.. Beijing Planetarium attracts audience from generation to generation through unique demonstration means.

By Subway: Take Subway Line 4 to Dongwuyuan (Beijing Zoo) Station (Exit D) and you can see the tourist center of Beijing Planetarium.

By Bus: 1. Take Bus No. 27, 87, 105, 107, 111, 332, 347, 360, 362, 534, 563, 632, Special Line 4 or 19, Yuntong 104, Yuntong 105 or Yuntong 106 to Dongwuyuan Station.

2. Take Bus No. 7, 15, 16, 19, 45, 65, 102, 103, 334, 360, or 695 to Dongwuyuan Hub Station.

Reservation: Independent tourists could book the tickets through the WeChat Official Account of Beijing Planetarium. Tourist groups from school, travel agency and other organizations with more than 30 people need to make a reservation through telephone.
