Urban nature's healing moments: Early bloom for water lilies in Beijing

2020-05-18

Lianhuachi Park in southwest Beijing's Fengtai District has about 3,000 years of history. In its early years, the area was a large wetland and one of the major sources of water supply. Back in the 1900s, lotus flowers were first introduced to the park and since then, the blooming lotus flowers in June and July have become a signature scenery of the park.

Even though the peak season of lotus blossom is yet to come, some water lilies seem impatient to wake up early and enlighten us with their beauty.
