The Alexandrov Red Army Ensemble from Russia is coming to Beijing this month, staging three shows at the Great Hall of the People from Friday to Sunday.

Beijing is the sixth stop for the ensemble's 2019 China tour, hosted by One World Culture Communication, which is bringing its sounds to eight cities with 18 performances.

Previous stops include Shanghai, Foshan in South China's Guangdong province, and Xining in Northwest China's Qinghai province.

The ensemble, founded in 1928, is the highest-level official song and dance troupe within the Russian armed forces.

At a press conference on Thursday, musicians from the ensemble performed pieces from its repertoire, and collaborated with singers from the China Oriental Song and Dance Ensemble in performing the classic Russian song, Moscow Nights.

After the Beijing performances, the Alexandrov Ensemble will go to Dezhou in East China's Shandong province and Guangzhou in Guangdong province.
