Introduction:

The three-act opera by Giacomo Puccini tells a tragic tale of revenge and murder. Famous woman opera singer Floria Tosca unwillingly yielded to Baron Scarpia, chief of Rome's secret police, in order to save her lover Mario Cavaradossi, an artist arrested for covering up political prisoners.

Scarpia promised that he would prepare for a mock execution of Cavaradossi, after which he is to be freed. Then Tosca stabbed Scarpia to death. However, the execution was real and Cavaradossi died. With strong despair, Tosca jumped off the battlements and killed herself.
