With gentle breezes and warm sunshine all around, spring is embracing Beijing now. It's time to take your camera to Beijing’s parks and enjoy a delightful trip.

  • Bajiao Amusement Park Station - Shijingshan Amusement Park

Shijingshan Amusement Park, built in 1986, is a famous old-brand amusement park for entertainment and recreation. The amusement park features a European architectural style. With Cinderella’s castle from Grimm's Fairy Tales as its center, the beautiful Cinderella statue stands in the artificial lake in front of the castle. The ancient European castles, statue of a maid, integrated with surrounding statues of Pinocchio, Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse, forming a fantastic world filled with colorful fairy tales. There are more than 50 medium and large modernized amusement programs in the park.

You are strongly recommended to take a ride on the Ferris wheel on the Valentine’s Day. In the Beijing’s largest Ferris wheel, you are kissing or viewing the fantastic night scenes, watching for your happiness.

  • Yuquanlu Station - Beijing International Sculpture Park

Magnolia blossoms of Beijing International Sculpture Park are the ultimate in quantity, variety, color and flowering season. As the largest of its kind in Beijing, Magnolia Garden within the park covers a total area of 5 hectare with over 5,000 magnolia trees in 19 varieties. This attraction is a must-go place for you to enjoy the most flamboyant Magnolia blossoms in the capital.

  • Gongzhufen Station - Yuyuantan Park

Yuyuantan Park is a good place to appreciate the beauty of cherry blossoms. The 31st cherry blossom cultural event kicked off on March 19 and visitors can enjoy over 3,000 cherry trees here. When the flowering plums are in bloom on the roadsides, you're told it's the right time to enjoy the cherries in Yuyuantan Park.

Yuyuantan Park has more than 40-year history of planting and cultivating cherry blossom. In recent years, the new cherry scenic spot in the park has been designed by taking full consideration of the colors, surrounding landscape elements and the culture of early cherries, with “Miles of Cherry Embankment” waterside cherry blossoms and cherry blossoms all over the mountain landscapes created. The self-cultivated colorful “hill cherry” plants are broadly planted in the park, which are in complete harmony with the terrain, topography and cultural atmosphere, forming a harmonious ecological environment and making the park present an entirely new look.

  • Tian'anmen West Station - Zhongshan Park

Spring is the right season for the Zhongshan Park to display its prettiest sceneries. With flowers breaking out at everywhere, all kinds of flower exhibitions are overwhelming. For sightseeing, it is definitely the best place far from the noisy and furious world outside.

The full bloom of tulips in Zhongshan Park attracts a large number of tourists and shutterbugs every year. It is best to appreciate tulips from April to June, when large blocks of bright-colored tulips and tulip scatter perfectly with theme parterres. On parkways, trails and tranquil gardens densely packed tulips blossom quietly. Its fragrance can be smelled a long way off.

Inside the park there are also orchids planted in the 1960s, the first group of plum blossoms in Beijing, as well as famous flower species like midget crabapples and peonies.

  • Tian'anmen East Station - Huangchenggen Relics Park

Huangchenggen Relics Park, also known as Imperial City Wall Relics Park or Imperial Palace Wall Relics Park, was built on the relics of east imperial city wall, the second ring of the Beijing City wall in Ming and Qing dynasties. The park covers an area of 55,000 square meters with 73 varieties of plants.

There are seven humanist sceneries such as stone carving Beijing map during period of Ming and Qing Dynasty. A small section of the city wall has been restored, serves as a needle that sews together historic and cultural scenic spots, including the relics of imperial city wall, Western Returned Scholars Association, siheyuan and the red building of Peking University.

  • Tian'anmen East Station - Changpuhe Park

Changpuhe Park, situated in the heart of the Dongcheng District, is separated from Tian’anmen Square by a wall. Changpu River got its name from the calami (Changpu in Chinese) growing in the river, and is always an important part of the Forbidden City’s water system. Walking along the river and under the willow trees, tourists indulge themselves into the breathtaking sceneries, while experiencing the river course views and historical culture.
