The Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland is decorated with red lanterns and other Spring Festival decorations these days. While celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year, it also marked the three-year countdown to the 2022 Beijing Olympics.

The Chinese Red Light-on 2022 exhibition is the first overseas stop of the "Cheer for the Olympics" series of cultural exhibitions. IOC President Thomas Bach attended the event, featuring a display of dozens of paintings by Chinese artist Cui Jingzhe and a Chinese ink painting titled "Olympic Spring."

Cui said, "As a Chinese painter, I feel very proud to display my Chinese Red works in the famous Olympic Museum. The 2022 Beijing Olympics will open in three years' time. Please allow me to represent my generation of traditional Chinese painters, to express our best wishes to the 2022 Winter Games."

According to the committee and Vice President of Beijing 2022 Yu Zaiqing, as the preparations for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games continue to advance, more and more Chinese artists hope to participate in Olympic art and cultural activities and promote the Olympic spirit and values through their works.

Yu jointly lit the screen which marks the countdown of three years to Beijing 2022.

While attending the event, Bach told the reporters, "It will be three years to go. It will be very meaningful for me to invite all the Chinese people to join us in these celebrations of the Olympic ideal and the preparation for Beijing 2022."

Bach also added that the celebration of the Chinese New Year in the form of an exhibition of paintings fully demonstrates the inspiration of Pierre de Coubertin. It's "the Olympic Movement comprising sport and culture as its two founding pillars."
