The resort is inspired by the hunting lodges in during the Qing dynasty. It took two years to build the ranch.  The designs are based on Chengde Summer Palace and craftsmen for restoring the Forbidden City and Chengde Summer Palace were invited. The overall layout employs Zen, Tao and other eastern philosophy concerning nature homage.

It features distinctive interior decoration, and on the walls and tea table are displayed the soldiers' caps, waist knives and firelock of the Qing Dynasty. The reception hall of Red Capital Ranch & Spa displays Wu Peifu's handwriting, which means "being happy in doing good" in English. It is said that Wu Peifu used to hunt around the Manor.

The rooms in Red Capital Ranch & Spa have three styles, including traditional Chinese style, Tibetan style (3 rooms), and Manchu style (4 rooms). 2 suites of rooms have patterns of Dunhuang flying apsaras for interior decoration. The interior decoration of one Yan'an cave-like dwelling room tries to create the atmosphere of the revolutionary period.
