Pine Tress in Tanzhe Temple

Besides spring water, Tanzhe Temple is also famous for ancient pine trees. In addition to the well-known Emperor Tree, the white bark pine in front of Anle Hall is also an ancient tree. Looking down from a slope outside Foyun Tower, you can catch sight of a white bark pine standing in a quiet yard. Among the numerous ancient trees in gardens of Beijing, the editor finds white bark pine the most adorable. It is the best subject for sketching and oil painting. With light greenish blue and soft green as main hues, the mottled trunk sometimes exudes slight red. Its branches twine in a free manner, looking like being transparent. Pine needles cluster densely and make for a pleasant autumn scene.
