Malan Village
Situated to 83km south of National Highway 109, Malan Village is not only a time-honored village but also the seat of former site of Jirecha Advancing Troops Headquarters. This former site is a listed building and a youth patriotism education base. With four exhibition rooms covering a total area of 100㎡, the display hall is home to 103 material objects, 175 pictures and one sand table to offer a glimpse into how Jirecha Advancing Troops struggled to establish Pingxi Resistance Base and lift the siege of ten Japanese troops to consolidate Western Beijing, guard Eastern Hebei and seize Northern Beijing, as well as the anti-Japanese history of Malan Village.

Zhaitang Reservoir
Completed on September 17, 1974 in a valley of the main ditch of Qingshui River and to the southwest of Xizhaitang Village, Mentougou District, Zhaitang Reservoir covers a control basin area of 345㎡. With a maximum dam height of 58.50m and a 380m-long and 5m-wide dam crest, the reservoir has a water storage volume of about 15 million m³ and a total storage capacity of 100 million m³. Flanked by green mountains with bird chirp and flower fragrance, Zhaitang Reservoir is known for not only the largest area but also the prettiest scenery in Mentougou District. A couple of years on, when day comes, it will be a paradise for flying swans, as well as wild ducks and other water birds who nestle here to reproduce, breathing great vitality into the reservoir.

Shuanglongxia Natural Scenic Spot
Nestling among green mountains and valleys to 3.5 km south of Huocun Village, Zhaitang Town, Mentougou District, Shuanglongxia Natural Scenic Spot is a national AAA scenic area integrating catering, accommodation, travel, sightseeing, shopping and entertainment. With the advent of crisp and fresh autumn days, the surrounding mountains are carpeted with fiery red leaves. Expanse after expanse of forests is in a blaze of color, creating a breathtaking reflection in the lake. What a sight to behold it is! Here, you can ride the forest train, listening to the wind whistling through the mountains and enjoying the strong, mind-refreshing flower fragrance. At the moment, you would feel as if wandering around a fairyland.
