Liushi Road in Fangshan District

Large trucks cannot enter Liushi Road due to the height limitation facilities on both sides. Thus, visitors can relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery all the way without worrying about the crazy large trucks. Along the road are deep valleys with sharp bends and dangerous road condition, even falling rocks in some areas. As a result, there are few people and few cars on Liushi Road, and those who can enjoy the beautiful scenery are also quite few. There is a gravestone on a platform on Liushi Road which links Liudu and Shibantai Village, belonging to a young measurer named Li Lanting, who slid down the cliff accidentally and lost his precious life while doing the measurement at the age of 21. On Liushi Road, people can overlook Shidu from above.

Youzhou Valley in Mentougou

One side of the winding road is the cliff, and the other side is Yongding Valley, being exciting and thrilling. The road is excavated from the center of the cliff, serving as the only wall highway in Beijing suburb like that in Guo Liang Village and Wang Mang Hill of southern Taihang Mountains. The river valley is flanked by precipitous cliffs, and the mountain is composed of extremely weathered limestone. People can have a barbecue and camping at the river beach in summer. The mountain is covered by colorful-leaf forest in spring, which is brilliant and colorful.

Baihua Mountain in Mentougou

In the south of Baihua Mountain, a winding road will take the cars to the peak. A Returning Zone is set for cars in sharp bends, named as “dragon shakes his head, phoenix swings her tail”! Baihua Mountain is a famous scene spot in western Beijing. On the top of the mountain lies a large meadow, where you will feel like being in the sea of flowers in spring and summer.

Road to Jieshi Village in Mentougou

The road to Jieshi Village is rugged and adventurous with picturesque scenery. Jieshi Village is a small village in Mentougou, archaic and tranquil, with many folkways and custom relics being worthy of sightseeing. There are many other scenic spots around the road, such as Nanshiyang Great Rift Valley, Zhenzhu (Pearl) Lake, Zhuwo Reservoir, Zhaitang Reservoir, Youzhou Great Valley, Cuandixia and Lingshui villages.

Shibapan in Mentougou

Named as Shibapan, the road to Tanzhe Temple is a famous winding road in western Beijing, testing the road sense of old drivers in bends. The whole road includes 7 U-bends in total. It is recommended for all the old drivers that no matter how good your driving skills are, do no overtake other cars on the road and do not over speed, enjoying the mountain scenery is the most important thing.

Haituo Mountain in Yanqing District

There are numerous bends on the road from Hebei to Beijing while climbing over Haituo Mountain. The slopes are steep and the bends are sharp, but the roadway is good for driving. The sceneries are beauty all the way but various in four seasons. You can see the spectacular scene of sunrise if coming at the right time.
