Traditional Manufacturing Technique for Beijing-style Cheongsam
The traditional exquisite technique for Beijing-style cheongsam has a profound cultural connotation and profound international influence, which was honored as an intangible cultural heritage of Beijing city and the district level in 2006.
Beijing-style cheongsam is mainly made of tapestry satin, soochow brocade and silk. Tapestry satin is a Chinese traditional silk fabric which is fabricated by interweaving warp sateen with wefts of more than three colors, revealing sheeny and smooth surface, thick hand feeling and ornate colors perfect for women’s wear.
