Deshengmen Embrasured Watchtower

Located at the west side of Beijing’s northern city wall, Deshengmen embrasured watchtower is one of the nine embrasured watchtowers in Beijing’s inner city. Together with the barbican, the embrasured watchtower built in the 2nd year of the reign of Emperor Zhengtong of the Ming Dynasty (1437) were important military fortresses to protect the city gate. Since then, maintenance work of the gate and watchtower were carried out by all successive reigns and dynasties. As a defensive building, the watchtower in front of the gate tower is constructed on a brick tower.

Lotus Lane

Lotus Lane on the west bank of the lotus pond in Shichahai lakes is a summer resort for Beijingers. It boomed in 1920s and boasts entertainment fields and commodity markets for folk art performances. Stalls in the market usually sell lotus-related fresh food and ice bowl, one of Beijing snacks. Outside of the lotus pond is a moat, where planks placed on. Performances launched in a shed put up on the planks will start from near every noon and ends before sunset during every Dragon Boat Festival, namely the May 5th of the Chinese lunar calendar, to the August.

Prince Gong Mansion

Prince Gong Mansion, a key cultural site protected at the national level and the largest royal palace in the Qing Dynasty, once was the private residence of He Shen and Yong Lin. In 1851, the mansion welcomed a new owner, Prince Gong, whom the mansion is named after. It showcases the nobles and collapse of the Qing Dynasty, and tells rich historical and cultural information, hence the saying “The Prince Gong Mansion records the half history of Qing Dynasty”. After the collapse of the Qing Dynasty, the property right of this mansion was offered to the Furen Catholic University. Since 1988, its garden has been opened to the public. And with the renovation works on the mansion completed in 2008, it was entirely opened to visitors.

Yinding Bridge

Yinding Bridge is located in the waterway between Qianhai and Houhai of Shichahai Scenic Area in Xicheng District. It is a north-south single-arch stone bridge in the shape of a silver sycee, hence the name Yinding Bridge. As one of the tourist attractions in Shichahai Scenic Area and one of the eight sights in Beijing, it boasts a famous scenic spot named “Viewing the Western Hill at Yinding Bridge”, which was one of the amazing sceneries in ancient Beijing. It was renovated in 1984 and adopted itsoriginal name.

Shichahai Guildhall

Shichahai Guildhall is an ideal site for commercial banquets.
