The century-old teahouse Zhang Yiyuan was established in 1900. Since then, it has been persisting in making nice tea by traditional techniques and has become a time-honored Chinese brand carrying memories of the past in Beijing.
Beijingers favour jasmine. Zhang Yiyuan’s jasmine tea is famous for a sweet and strong taste and clear tea water. Spring tea is chosen as the tea base and processed. Jasmines in buds in hot summer days (a period between xiazhi and chushu solar terms) are chosen as the tea ingredients.
