The Old Summer Palace (Yuanmingyuan) held 7 sessions of "Old Summer Palace Imperial Temple Fair" since the Spring Festival of 2010, which has made profound explorations into the inheritance and development of cultural heritage. It has balanced the tourism and cultural activities of the Summer Palace in the four seasons from timing, and made up for the absence of the Spring Festival temple fairs in the northwestern Beijing from regional layout. It adds a historical and cultural atmosphere to the construction of the Zhongguancun Core Area and the Capital, a world city, having achieved good returns both in popularity and in economy. Every year from the 27th day of the twelfth lunar month to the 7th day of the first lunar month, the Summer Palace will hold temple fair in order to better inherit and carry forward the traditional Chinese culture of the Spring Festival. The venues of the temple fair are all planned on the main road instead of on the historic sites.

Old Summer Palace Temple Fair includes royal ice show, New Year performances, special snack street, folk artist show, Spring Festival book fair, photo contest, intangible cultural heritage exhibition, Summer Palace Cultural Exhibition and other activities.
