24th Hongluo Temple Fair

The ancient temple Hongluo Temple is the birthplace of Buddhism in northern China and the largest Buddhist building, enjoying a very high status in the Buddhist community for more than a thousand years. Every year from the first to the sixth day of the first lunar month, the traditional propitious Hongluo Temple Fair with a long history is well received and endorsed by Beijing residents and tourists alike.

It includes Five Fu(blessings) celebrating the Lunar New Year, praying and ringing in the New Year, guessing lantern riddles, appreciating the three durable plants of winter - pine, bamboo and plum blossom, visiting the plum blossom flower exhibitions and other activities.

It will be fun for your family to visit Hongluo Temple Fair to have a special pleasant Beijing excursion, taking part in activities like climbing mountains, visiting temple fairs, praying, and eating roasted fish. This is the favorite activity of many Beijingers.

Traffic Guide:

(1) Jingcheng Expressway - Exit (No. 13) of Beitai Road  - Huairou District - driving northward along Qingchun Road - Hongluo Road (3km) to the scenic spot.

(2) Jingcheng Expressway – Exit (No. 14) of Huairou District - Viaduct - Fanqi Road (turn left at the Convention and Exhibition Center) - Hongyan Road - Turn right at Buduiqiaodong and go straight to Hongluo Temple. (see signposts for direction)

(3) Jingshun Road (101 State Road) - Huairou District - driving northward along Qingchun Road - Hongluo Road (3 km) to the scenic spot.

Taking bus: No. 845 Hongluo Temple transit special bus line from Dongzhimen Bus station to the temple(passengerpass accepted). Buses are scheduled for round trip every day at about a 30-minute interval.
