Aman Summer Palace

Outside the east gate of the Summer Palace lie stretches of residential courtyards, some of which boast a history of over a hundred years. Among this cluster of courtyards hides the Aman Summer Palace. Originally built for guests who came to the Summer Palace for an audience with Empress Dowager Cixi, these courtyards are enveloped in unworldly beauty and peaceful serenity.

Most of rooms feature four-poster queen-size beds and large Ming-style wardrobes. In its guest rooms and suite rooms designed with wood screens and bamboo shutters, simple charm and nostalgia pervade every corner of them. Standing here, you would seem to feel the romance of another world edging in through the mist of time and plunge you into the old days. Near a pond a pavilion is built for ancient music. On afternoons and evenings there would come intoxicating music by Chinese musicians of the hotel.
