Labagou National Forest Park is located in Huairou district, a northern outskirt 160 kilometers from central Beijing. Covers an area of 90 sq km, it is the city's largest forest park and has a thick forest known for being home to a variety of Chinese medicinal plants.

The forest park boasts rich plant and animal species. Given the high elevation and short duration of the frost, the original forest gradually turns red in color.
