The 4th International Walking Festival will open its curtains on September 23 at Yanqi Lake, Huairou District. Over 8,000 people will participate in the festival. The festival is host by Huairou District Government and Beijing Walking Association and will attract over 8,000 people to take part.

A news conference was convoked on September 13. In course of the conference, the Secretary General of the association detailed the latest developments of the festival. The festival has been held for 3 times successfully since 2004 drawing a host of people.

The route this year is 12 km long in total passing by many tourist attractions and accompanying with beautiful landscape. It will provide a good opportunity for people to appreciate breathtaking scenes in a new way. People can walk along Yanqi Lake dressing in DIY T-shirt. In addition to the walking competition, an online collection activity will launch to select outstanding photos during the festival and excellent works will be exhibited after the festival.
