The Badaling Great Wall enjoys great reputation both home and abroad. As one of the must-visit spots in Beijing, transportation is very important.
There are mainly two ways to get there.
Bus
You can take No.877 bus at the north side of De Sheng Men (德胜门箭楼) to arrive directly at Badaling Great Wall. It takes about
1.5 hour and the bus ticket costs RMB 12. The time of last bus back to Beijing is at 17:00. Don’t miss it.
Getting to the bus stop
Take Metro Line 2 and get off at Ji Shui Tan (积水潭) Station. The bus stop is about 400 meters east from the subway station.
Please remember that the real No.877 bus usually parks in the parking lots. Don’t believe other people who say they are staff of
No.977 bus.
Lining up is inevitable during peak hours, usually 7:00 am - 9:00 am and 17:00-19:00. You can set off in advance or later to avoid peaks hours.
Train
You can also take train S2 at Beijing North Railway Station. A highlight guide to the ticket office of S2 can be seen at the station. The procedure for taking S2 is similar to taking the subway. Yikatong (public transit prepaid smart card) is valid to take the train as well. It takes about 1.5 hours and the ticket costs 6 RMB.
As the seat number is not available on the ticket, it would be better to line up at station in advance if you want seats.
How to get to Beijing North Railway Station?
Take Metro Line 2, 4 or 13 and get off at Xi Zhi Men Station(西直门).
