Bungee jumping in Qinglong Gorge, Huairou District

Qinglong Gorge, a National 4A Scenic Spot surrounded by green hills and blue waters and with ancient Great Wall running through, is situated at the ancient Great Wall Pass, Huaibei Town, Huairou District of Beijing. This reinforced concrete jumping platform was built with rock-climbing walls, setting a height of 68 meters and jumpers can enjoy a 50-meter flying down. Erected on a steel frame, the platform is about 20 meters above the ground, like two arms stretching out, with water pool and air cushion protection laying underneath. Bungee jumping platform in here is seven meters higher than that in Shidu, an uppermost difference in height for bungee jumping in current China.

Bungee jumping in Yanqi Lake, Huairou District

Yanqi Lake features four distinctive seasons and sceneries. In spring, the lake is echoed with various birds’ singing and dressed in different hues of blooms. In summer, the dense forests that surround the lakes get much greener and the lake ever so much clearer. The breeze in autumn blows cooler air and the fragrance of fruit. While in winter, snowflakes dancing and the lake is draped with a sliver cloak. In late September of 1998, a “Rocket Bungee Tower” stood on the Yanqi lakeside, people sitting and fixed on its seat, then sprung to the sky by two thick rubber bands up to a place of 50 meters above the ground. However, not like downward jumping, it may fail to give the feeling of heart-throbbing. The most difference between these two lies in the initiatives of participators.
