Thangka Painting on BITE 2017

The Beijing International Tourism Expo was held in China National Convention Center during 16 to 18, June. The companies from more than 80 countries and regions and 30 provinces were present. On June 17, the first day of the expo, a thangka painter painting thangka in Yushu Pavilion attracted many tourists.

Thangka is a kind of painting of Tibetan culture. Rare stones such as pearl, agate, malachite and plants such as saffron and rhubarb are used as pigments. These natural pigments can keep bright for hundred years. It is also one of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in China.
