As the regimental commander of the 10th regiment Shanxi-Chahaer-Hebei infantry, he was die from sniper's shot in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in Feb 4,1941. He was only 30 years old when he die. The Eighth Route Army released an article to mourn his death and praised him as an excellent commander, hero and vanguard of the proletariat.

People set an monument to memory Bai Yihua but it destroyed by Japanese invaders. In May of 1944, a new monument of him set by Fenglua County. There are “People’s Hero” and his life story carved on the monument. In order to protect the new monument from Japanese Invaders, local people buried the monument underground.

20 years later, in 1964, the monument was dig out and now it is exhibit in the capital museum and there is a new monument of Bai Yihua in Miyun District.
