Wulongtan Primeval Forest is located in the virgin forest ecological zone of Labagoumen Manchu Township in Huairou District. The scenic spot is surrounded by mountains. It has complex terrains and landforms varied from the towering hills, steep cliffs to hollow valleys. The altitude is from 700 to 1700 meters with immense forests, fresh air and splendid scenery. It has the largest area of birch forest in China and the largest area of alp azalea, larch forest and oak forest in Beijing. Many rare and precious trees such as the purple basswood, yellow pineapple are dotted in the whole forest.

Covering an area of 110 square kilometers, the forests are covered with plant chain of virgin forest as arbors, shrub, millet, fern, fungus, cogongrass, and wetland moss etc. There are more than 300 kinds of wild animals including beasts, birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects etc.
