Ukraine Shadow Theatre which was established in 2008, consists of 10 brilliant young people with different professional backgrounds such as dance and gymnastics. They come together because of their same passion for shadow play, a distinct form of art.

Shadow play scientifically utilizes the light, shadow, screen and human body to create magical changes of scenes on the screen. The harmonious combination of video, music and plots adds to the wonderful play. Shadow play can generate audiences resonance and touch them in spite of different languages, ages and regions.

The shadow theatre has toured around the world many times, and gained great success and reputation among the audiences around the world. The shadow play in Beijing will be performed by the original Ukraine cast.

Fireflies is the finalists of TV talent show Ukraine Got Talent in Ukraine, Minute of Fame in Russia, Mam Talent in Poland, and Das Supertalent in Germany.

Shadow theater Fireflies has performed on numerous local, regional and international scenes, taken part in various festivals, competitions, ceremonies, awards and other activities. The theater was a member of the closing ceremony of Odessa International Film Festival III, awarding ceremony of the International Festival Competition “Choise of the year 2012”, International Festival of Contemporary Art “GogolFest 2012” Festival, “Qatar Spring Festival 2013”, and the opening ceremony of the Odessa International Film Festival IV.

Shadow theater Fireflies is also actively involved in socially significant projects. The theater became the winner of social advertising, initiated by the Foundation “ANTIAIDS” Elena Pinchuk in the International Festival of the actual animation and media arts LINOLEUM 2014.

The programs include Eurotour, Aladdin, Plasticine, Space, and Charlie Chaplin.
