Tongheju Restaurant is considered top of “Top Eight Jus” in Old Beijing and was established in 1822. Mainly specializing in Shandong dishes, Tongheju’s cooking skills are fine and varied. During the period of Republic of China, Tongheju hired Master Yuan Xiangfu to help with dishes, who once worked in the imperial kitchen. Master Yuan made Tongheju well-known to diners with imperial dishes such as pudding-like sweet food made of green bean flour and yolk.
