Longqing Gorge Ice Sculpture and Lantern Tour

Longqing Gorge Ice Sculpture and Lantern Tour

2014-02-10

Located roughly 80km northwest of the city, the Longqing Gorge launches its very own ice and snow festival every January that transforms the frozen wilderness into a mini version of Harbin, complete with grand illuminated ice sculptures. These sculptures, which even take the form of buildings, are arranged in the basin of the gorge and surrounded by walls of mountains, which are also illuminated at night. Upping the festive atmosphere are toboggan rides, folk and dragon dances, and - best of all - open-air KTV.

If you don’t feel like taking the unreliable, snail-paced public transport, join one of China Culture Center’s weekend trips to Longqing, which include transportation, hot drinks and guided tour for just a little more than the festival’s ticket price.

CCC’s Longqing Gorge Ice Sculpture and Lantern Tour will be held from 3:30-10:00 pm on Feb. 2, 15 and 22 depending on enrolment.
