The Golden Resource New Yansha Mall was the first shopping mall that came close resembling to a western standard on the Chinese mainland. The giant center is located between Beijing's West Third and Fourth Ring roads. The Mall is an integration of multiple business formats, covering entertainment, catering and shopping.

Located by Kunyu River of Haidian District in Beijing. It is a central place between West 3rd-Ring Road and West 4th-Ring Road with excellent traffic condition. 1. Xiangshan Park, also known as the Fragrant Hills Park, is located on the eastern sides of the Western Hills, approximately 10 kilometers to the west of Beijing.

Due to its high elevation and dense cover of trees, spring arrives late in the area and summer days are always pleasantly cool. The best time to visit the park is late fall, when the smoke tree leaves turn red. The trees make the grandest display of all. There are also groves of apricots, pears, peaches and lilacs adding their fragrance, and the more solemn evergreens, whose contribution to the local beauty is unrestricted by seasonal changes.

Beijing Botanical Garden, lying in the foot of the West Hill of Beijing, has by tradition been engaged in the conservation of the native flora, especially plants from northern, northeastern and northwestern China. Its attention is also concentrated on research, public education and recreation. 300 ha are currently opened to the public, including the living plant collections, the historic sites, a nature reserve. Excellent displays are made monthly in the main conservatory, penjing (bonsai) garden, the arboretum and 14 outdoor gardens: tree-peony garden, peony garden, rose garden, ornamental peach garden, lilac garden, crabapple-contoneaster garden, magnolia garden, fall color garden, perennial garden, bamboo garden and mume flower garden. There are more than 4 million visitors every year from domestic and oversea.

3. The Temple of the Reclining Buddha

The Temple of the Reclining Buddha, or Wofo Si, is situated at the foot of the Western Hills about 30 kilometres west of Beijing. It was first built in the 7th century at a cost of 5 million taels of silver. When it was renovated and expanded in the Yuan Dynasty, a huge statue of recumbent Buddha was cast. It was renamed the Temple of Eternal Peace during the Ming period. When it was restored under the Qing, it was given another name: the Temple of Universal Awakening. It is generally referred to as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha.
