Flowering period: March – early April
Magnolias are among spring's most elegant sights. Large, pure blossoms open on bare branches, noble and clean. Petals stretch like jade butterflies or cups full of spring light, with a soft, sweet fragrance in the breeze. The magnolias at Tiantan Park's Zhai Palace are like a classic Chinese painting; those along Chang'an Jie (Ave) complement the National Opera House. Over 5,000 magnolias bloom at Beijing International Sculpture Park, while ancient magnolias at Tanzhe Temple and Dajue Temple carry historical charm.
