
The exhibition takes archaeological discoveries as a clue, focusing on the exploration process of Pompeii since its rediscovery in the 18th century. It sorts out the evolution of archaeological methods, concepts and achievements in different periods, and with the latest archaeological results, restores the historical appearance of Pompeii as an important city of the Roman Empire and the living scenes of people at that time from a brand-new perspective. Reveal its significant position in the Roman Empire and its extensive connections with the Mediterranean region.
The exhibition will showcase 105 selected cultural relics from Italy, including marble sculptures, murals, pottery, bronzes, gold ornaments and other precious cultural relics. Among them, 81 pieces (sets) are making their debut in China, and another 7 pieces (sets) have not yet been publicly displayed in Italy. The exhibition also includes three groups of immersive experience Spaces, which further present the relevant archaeological excavation achievements in a multi-dimensional way, providing the public with a more intuitive and shocking exhibition experience.
