On December 19, 2025, the "Hello Beijing" Winter Solstice Unveil the Promise of Spring cultural exchange activity, hosted by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and organized by the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center, took place in Beijing. The event centered around the traditional Winter Solstice season, integrating a thematic exhibition, cultural performances, intangible cultural heritage experiences, and promotions of Beijing's winter travel routes. It provided over 50 guests from more than 20 countries, including diplomats, travel professionals, scholars, and international students, with an immersive introduction to Chinese cultural heritage and Beijing's integrated cultural and tourism development.

During the event, Zheng Fang, Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, highlighted in her address that the Winter Solstice, a significant marker within China's 24 solar terms, embodies ancient wisdom and harmony with nature. She expressed that the event aimed to showcase Beijing's innovative blend of tourism and traditional solar term culture.

The Winter Solstice, Yang Arises cultural exhibition illustrated the historical origins, customs, and philosophical ideas behind the festival, particularly the concept of “yang energy emerging at the solstice peak.” Through scenes of winter life in Beijing, it demonstrated the continuity of solar term culture in the modern age.

Attendees enjoyed a rich program including a classical dance performance, innovative folk music, and traditional magic acts. In the interactive workshop zone, guests engaged in activities such as paper-cutting, calligraphy, and making seasonal foods like dumplings and tangyuan, experiencing firsthand the folk traditions of the season.

A promotion segment featured 10 recommended winter travel routes around Beijing, combining historical sites, winter sports, intangible cultural heritage, and festive celebrations, offering new ideas for exploring the capital in winter.

Through these experiential activities, international guests gained a deeper understanding of the cultural philosophy embedded in China's solar terms. Many expressed interest in further exploring Beijing's cultural and tourism offerings.
