
On December 18th, "Awaken the Future: Treasures and suspended sculptures of Xiaoxitian Temple" exhibition opened to the public at the National Museum of Classic Books in Beijing. The exhibition brings together 50 groups (84 pieces) of cultural relics, including important temple-collected stone inscriptions, exquisite gold and bronze statues from the Ming and Qing dynasties, rare editions of the Yongle Northern Canonen, and fragments of hanging sculpture relics.
Xiaoxitian Temple, formerly known as Qianfo An (Thousand Buddha Nunnery), is located in Xixi County, Shanxi Province. It is renowned for housing 1,978 statues dating back to the Ming Dynasty.
