Guided by the principle of "Art for the People," this year's Beijing Music Festival has innovated in public service models, creating a music outreach initiative that integrates online and offline activities. It mainly consists of three components.
The "Masterclasses" component will feature more than 10 art appreciation sessions and sharing events led by international artists. Esteemed masters such as Hungarian mezzo-soprano Ildikó Komlósi will offer personal guidance to young music talents. Pulitzer Prize winner Du Yun will explore the modern transformation of traditional music at the "Future · Tradition" sharing session. An innovative interpretation of the classic opera Wozzeck will be provided through guided appreciation, while composer Huang Ruo will break down the creative ideas behind City of Floating Sounds. An online series titled "Rookie Village for Classical Music (古典音乐新手村)" will be launched to make classical music culture accessible to the general public.
The "Youth Showcases" component will take place from October 6 to 8 at the Beijing Music Industrial Park. It will bring together youth orchestras from primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions across the country to showcase their talents. A special segment, "BMF Sunshine Youth," will be featured, offering a multidimensional experience of "professional showcases + public participation" through masterclasses, music workshops, and an open music market, all aimed at promoting youth music education.
The "Public Participation" component will collaborate with professional orchestras and institutions to present 20 professional performances, including the symphony Beijing Style, allowing high-quality music to reach more enthusiasts.
