Part 01 Beijing Planetarium
In order to meet the cultural consumption needs of the citizens and further promote the nighttime economy of the capital, the Beijing Planetarium organizes special themed night activities called "Planetarium Nights" irregularly every year around technology hotspots, major astronomical events, and traditional Chinese festivals. Through various forms of popular science such as astronomy-themed film screenings, telescope observations, and fun science activities, the colorful "Night Beijing" is illuminated.
The first "Planetarium Night" was absolutely exciting! Applause at the information station, screams from the popular science drama, the loud noise of the air cannon...
Film Space Station: Every screening in the popular science theater is a journey through time and space, from the origin of the universe to the future interstellar, with multiple stunning cosmic-themed films taking you directly to the grand and profound universe, embarking on a journey of mind-blowing experiences!
Astronomy Information Station: For a long time, humans have been continuously exploring the possibility of extraterrestrial life. In June 2025, a team led by the Yunnan Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences discovered a "super-Earth" Kepler-725c with a mass about 10 times that of Earth. Its appearance has lit a new dawn on our exploration path and provided important support for humanity in search of "Earth 2.0". Want to know what kind of planet it is? Why scientists are so hopeful about it? The Astronomy Information Station takes you deep into the mystery!
Astronomy Popular Science Drama: Set sail immediately, destination: Mars! Hurry to the performance of "Space Travel Team · Hi · Mars (《宇宙旅行团·Hi·火星》)" and embark on the "Red Planet Adventure" with two brave young explorers - encounter the talking Martian spirits, leap over vast canyons, and witness dormant volcanoes... A cosmic adventure that combines surprises, knowledge, and emotions awaits you to join!
Cosmic Experiment Show: "Optical Maze", various magical mirrors, light path demonstration devices... A unique "Magic of Light Show" is about to begin! Here, you can not only have a great time, but also immerse yourself in the mystery of light reflection through immersive learning, experiencing the wonderful magic of science and light and shadow intertwining.

Whether you are a knowledge-seeking student, a family seeking parent-child fun, a young person who loves traditional culture, or an explorer who loves science fiction adventures, the Museum Night has tailored a fantastic experience for you.
2025 "Museum Night" event (July 16 - August 15)
Building Light Show
As night falls, the museum is no longer just a brick and stone structure, it will transform into a magical dynamic canvas: 3D projections depict the epic evolution of life on Earth over 4.6 billion years, advanced projection technology unfolds the magnificent scroll of life before your eyes - the Cambrian explosion of life, the grand silhouette of the dinosaur dynasty, the agile footsteps of the rise of mammals... Every beam of light whispers, every frame tells a planet story about survival and adaptation. Let us experience the awe-inspiring "drift" across billions of light-years together.
Event Time: Monday to Sunday (closed on Tuesday) 20:00-21:00, a screening every 20 minutes, each lasting 3 minutes
Event Location: Exhibition Hall Outdoor Plaza
Participation Method: Self-participation
Ne Zha's Sea Adventure in Science Popularization (哪吒闹海讲科普)
On Monday nights, the Botanical World Exhibition Hall transforms into an ancient and elegant "small stage". As the curtain rises, the cowhide-carved Nezha and Dragon King come to life under the magical lights, but this is far from a traditional reproduction. The ancient art of shadow puppetry is infused with a new popular science soul - the shadow puppet play "Ne Zha's Sea Adventure in Science Popularization (哪吒闹海讲科普)" introduced by the Night of Light and Rhyme combines popular science knowledge with the story of Ne Zha. Watching little Nezha wield the Universe Ring not only stirs up the "East Sea", but also cleverly reveals the secrets of ocean circulation; the Dragon King's anger causing "towering waves" actually metaphorizes the power of plate tectonics; the "treasures" of the shrimp soldiers and crab generals unexpectedly become a window to understanding the unique adaptability of marine life... Amid the interplay of drums, gongs, and light and shadow, profound popular science knowledge penetrates the hearts of the audience through the characters' stories.
Event Time: Every Monday at 19:00
Event Location: Plant World Exhibition Hall, National Natural History Museum of China
Participation Method: The event is free. Recruitment on-site in the first-floor lobby, subject to the content broadcasted on the day.
Micro Exhibition of Luminescent Plants
Stepping into the third floor of the exhibition building of National Natural History Museum of China feels like entering a futuristic greenhouse from a science fiction movie. Here, there is no harsh artificial light, but instead, wondrous plants emitting soft, mysterious fluorescence. Scientists, like "alchemists" of nature, have ingeniously "written" the genetic code of luminescent fungi from the natural world into the cultivation of ornamental plants. Luminescent ferns resemble falling stars, glowing moss paves quiet paths, and fantastical flowers whisper in the dark... With the guidance of professional guides, we will understand the scientific magic behind luminescent plants and experience the unique poetry that technology bestows upon nature.
Event Time: Every Wednesday to Sunday

Participation Method: The event is free, reservation at the information desk on the first floor, guided tours available based on reservation times.
Theme explanation: Chasing the Light
How do the blinking "Morse code" signals of firefly tails convey messages of love? Why do moths "recklessly" fly towards flames? As one of the brand education activities of the National Natural History Museum of China, this year's theme explanation focuses on the theme of "Light Rhyme," revealing the intricate connections between insects and light. Through exquisite specimens and vivid animated displays, we will learn how these tiny creatures use light for courtship, navigation, camouflage, and even setting traps.
