Come to cool parks in scorching summer

2025-07-22

In the scorching summer, venture into the depths of parks with dense tree shade, by the banks of gurgling rivers and streams, or into wetland secrets with natural breezes to find a place of coolness. Wander through the parks, let the clear wind blow away the heat, let the greenery heal your body and mind, and unlock the right way to enjoy summer.

Nanhaizi Park

As the largest wetland park in southern Beijing, Nanhaizi Park boasts vast wetlands, lakes, and green spaces. With lush vegetation and towering trees, it forms patches of natural shade and serves as a habitat for many wild animals. The two major lake areas, "Luminghai Lake" and "Yanyinghai Lake," cover a total area of nearly 100 hectares. They were once hunting grounds for emperors of the Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, and also served as imperial gardens during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Willows flutter along the lake shores, and wild ducks occasionally take flight with quacks; take a boat ride on the lake, swaying gently, and feel the pleasure of the breeze brushing your face.

Nanhaizi Milu Park is a nature reserve for milu deer, where over 100 rare milu deer (Père David's deer) live. In addition, the Koala 100 Parent-Child Park in the park is full of childlike fun; visitors can also get close to nature at "Youge Ranch" and enjoy a happy holiday.

Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park

In summer, Nansen (Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park) hides a "green ocean."

As summer arrives, this greenery bursts with vibrant vitality, rippling like layers of forest waves.

Leisurely walk up to Queyu Platform in Nansen, and take photos of Yanjing Platform nestled among the trees; climb Yanjing Platform to admire the urban skyline, and view the lotus flowers in Xihe Wetland and Dapaozi Lotus Pond—truly the stunning scene of "The lotus leaves stretch to the sky, a boundless green."

Stroll along the forest plank road, listening to birds singing and water flowing; rich activities such as cultural research tours and Nansen night runs will also kick off one after another...

Beijing Yeya Lake National Wetland Park

This "natural air-conditioned room" hidden on the edge of the city is calling you with a lake full of lotus flowers and glistening waves to escape the heat and embark on a "lake tour and lotus appreciation · cool summer" date.

The lotus pond is like a paint palette knocked over by nature, with pink and white buds peeking out from among the green umbrellas of leaves.

Take a leisurely boat ride, watch waterbirds skimming the lake and wild ducks swimming in groups, immersing yourself in this "wetland ecological painting"; or hide in the camping area under the shade, or interact gently with little deer, sipping iced drinks and daydreaming amid the chirping of cicadas and the fragrance of lotus.

From now until August 31, Yeya Hu (Lake) will host the "Summer Water Play Festival." Say goodbye to monotonous water activities—new ways to have fun are unlocked every week, with endless joy.

From now until August 31, those with the 2025 senior high school entrance exam/college entrance exam admission ticket + ID card can enter the scenic area for free.

In summer, it is lush with greenery and rippling water, with blue skies reflecting the green reeds, making it an excellent place to escape the heat. There are 226 species of birds, including 140 protected species.

Over 30 species of aquatic plants such as cattails, reeds, and lotus grow here. The river water is clear, and waterbirds sing. Row a boat, have a picnic here... and fully enjoy the fun of getting close to nature.

Shenlu Forest Park is an immersive ecological park with deer as its theme. Stepping into this forest, it feels like entering a fairy tale instantly. Tame and lovely sika deer wander in groups through the woods; they will nudge the deer food in your palm, their wet noses and cute big eyes instantly easing all stress.

Xihai Wetland Park

"The embankment is surrounded by willow forests, with a thousand acres of lotus flowers, clusters of reeds, flocks of wild ducks, and a chorus of cicadas"—the beauty of Xihai in Beijing described by Lao She has been recreated in today's Xihai Wetland Park.

In the sweltering summer, Xihai Wetland Park is accompanied by the fragrance of lotus. Pink flowers dance gently in the wind against the backdrop of connected lotus leaves, swaying gracefully. There are swaying reeds, calamus, tall ancient trees, and time-honored old buildings... The wooden plank road around the lake connects all the scenic spots; the viewing platform along the lake allows close-up views of waterbirds playing and lotus blooming. Surrounding historical sites such as Huitong Temple, Sanguan Temple, Jingye Temple, Puji Temple, and Deshengmen Arrow Tower form a unique picture where history and modernity blend.

Liulangzhuang Park

Liulangzhuang Park (Phase I) is located in the Three Hills and Five Gardens area. Its north zone has restored the cultivation of Jingxi Rice and built sightseeing rice fields; the south zone is a natural landscape garden.

Under the dense tree shade and by the winding flower paths, citizens either chat and take a break, or wander and enjoy the scenery, fully relishing the cool shade and the charm of flowers.

Lush trees weave into a huge "cooling filter", adjusting the hot sunlight and wind to a comfortable level.

Here, saturated negative ions are mingled with waves of fragrance, like a clear spring flowing into the heart. The sweltering heat dissipates instantly, leaving a trace of coolness and comfort.
