Yanliao Guild Hall


Established by merchants from Shanxi dealing in pigments and tung oil in the Ming Dynasty, Yanliao Guild Hall is one of the important surviving Jin merchant guild halls in Beijing. Today, it serves as a key venue for the "Opera in Guild Halls" project. Since 2021, it has hosted over 400 performances, covering a variety of genres including Kunqu opera, Pingju opera, Yueju opera, traditional Chinese musical storytelling, acrobatics. The guild hall is also a "small but beautiful, small but elegant" multi-functional cultural space for new Beijing cuisine afternoon tea, traditional Han Chinese clothing experiences, reading, and intangible cultural heritage experiences for parents and children.
