Beijing launches seven characteristic rural tourism routes

To meet the summer travel needs of residents and tourists, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism has launched seven characteristic rural tourism routes, taking you to decode the natural secrets in geological wonders and forest mysteries, and rediscover the charm of the countryside in nature.

Primitive Forest Ecology Classroom | Zhongyushudian Cun, Huairou

Zhongyushudian Cun covers an area of about 25 square kilometers, with a mountain area of about 15,000 mu and a forest coverage rate as high as 93%. It is an important part of the Labagoumen Nature Reserve in Beijing. Zhongyushudian Cun is nestled among mountains and rivers, with picturesque scenery. The village has built pavilions, benches, and parks, and newly added windmills and boardwalks along the river, providing beautiful spots for tourists who want to stroll and rest in the mountain village. In the village known as the "Arctic Village," Zhongyushudian Cun, there are two landmarks, the "Radio Telescope Model" and the "Night View Lighting of the Riverside Boardwalk," where visitors can also capture the "Most Beautiful Starry Sky."

Alpine Meadow Plant Atlas | Hongshuikou Cun, Mentougou

Hongshuikou Cun is located in the western part of Qingshui, Mentougou, Beijing, at the foot of the highest peak in Beijing, Ling Shan (Mountain), within the Baishan National Nature Reserve. There is an ancient road next to the village that leads directly to the top of Ling Shan (Mountain), known as the "Gateway to Ling Shan (Mountain)." When visiting Hongshuikou Cun, you can explore natural landscapes such as "Birth of the Divine Turtle," "One-Line Sky," and "Fushiling" along the ancient road of Ling Mountain, climb to the main peak of Ling Mountain, and enjoy magnificent cloud seas and sunrises.

Qinglianggu Scenic Area

Canal Wetland Bird Migration Corridor | Matou Cun, Tongzhou

Matou Cun is located on both sides of Jingtang Lu (Rd), established during the Liao Dynasty. Villagers gathered here because of the canal, and the village prospered because of the canal. During the busy canal transportation period, this was the first dock for civilian merchant ships entering Beijing, embodying a thousand years of canal history and canal commercial civilization. The best bird-watching times are in the early morning (6:00-9:00) and evening (16:00-18:00), when bird activity is most frequent. It is recommended to go to bed and wake up early to enjoy the bird songs and fragrant flowers in the morning light.

Xiji Banquet is a traditional rural banquet in Xiji, Tongzhou, Beijing, with strong rural characteristics and rich cultural connotations.
