2025 Beijing Inbound Tourism Development Conference kicks off

2025-06-03

From June 1st to 2nd, over 270 travel business delegates from more than 40 countries and regions gathered in Beijing for a 48-hour "discover Beijing tour". These guests came specifically to attend the 2025 Beijing Inbound Tourism Development Conference. During the conference, the Beijing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau will launch 10 new "Beijing Discoveries" themed inbound tourism routes. Before the conference opened, the travel agents got a sneak peek at 6 of these routes. Focusing on "New Experiences at Traditional Attractions" and "New Discoveries at Emerging Attractions," these routes showcased Beijing's new tourism products, scenes, and services, providing travel agents with a "diverse menu" and "tailored services" for developing Beijing tour packages.

Delegates visited Xiannong Altar, the best-preserved Ming-Qing imperial agricultural sacrifice site on Beijing's Central Axis, admired the caisson ceiling at Longfu Temple, and experienced Chinese farming culture at the emperor's ceremonial "One Mu Three Fen" field. At Tongrentang Zhima Health Store Zero, they interacted with Asia's largest unmanned medicine dispenser, sampled herbal teas, botanical coffees, healthy baked goods, and innovative Chinese snacks, immersing themselves in traditional Chinese medicine culture. They toured Milu Park, a former imperial hunting ground, learned about the miraculous conservation journey of the Pere David's deer ("four-unlikes") from near extinction to population recovery, and witnessed ecological restoration success. Hand-feeding the deer and strolling along wetland boardwalks highlighted the practice of "harmonious coexistence between humans and nature," adding warmth and vitality to the journey.

They went to Fahai Temple to view "the finest Ming Dynasty murals" and experience an immersive mural light show. They explored Moshikou Street on a city walk, visiting sites like Ancient Path Preservation, Shimen Academy, Longwang Temple Square, the Quaternary Glacial Relics Exhibition Hall, and Jingxi Bookstore, witnessing the ancient pathway's transformation from a "camel caravan station" to a "urban living room," and feeling the blend of historic charm and modern innovation. At Shougang Park, they viewed the fusion of industrial heritage and winter sports from the Big Air ski jump platform and explored digital exhibition spaces in material silos, the Zhongguancun Sci-Fi Industrial Innovation Center, and the Biped Robot Training Center, experiencing the blend of "hardcore industry" and "trendsetting tech."

They visit the Grand Canal Museum, including the special exhibition "This is the Shang," where bronze ware, oracle bones, and other precious artifacts transported them back to the brilliance of Shang-Zhou civilization. They explored the "Three Temples and One Pagoda" complex and Xihaizi Park. As night fell, they browsed the Moon River Town's canal market for handicrafts and sampled diverse cuisines under starlight and lanterns, soaking in the "urban ambiance."

The delegates also went hiking along the lush ridges of the "uniquely beautiful" Mutianyu Great Wall. Gazing afar, they saw the winding walls and layered forests intertwine into a three-dimensional landscape painting, evoking the spirit of "He who has never been to the Great Wall is not a true man" and the poetic image of "a dragon-like wall resting on green hills." They visited Beigou Cun, one of Beijing's most beautiful villages, touring the Brickyard Art Museum—a blend of international and local design—and the countryside-retreat Brickyard Hotel at the foot of the Great Wall. At Yanqi Hu (Lake), they inspected the International Convention Center and facilities, learning about the resort area and its international conference capabilities.

Among the attendees were six special guests: social media influencers from the UAE with millions of followers. Visiting Beijing for the first time, they enthusiastically photographed and shared the scenery and food. Beyond the Forbidden City and Great Wall, they specifically visited the DJI Flagship Store in China World Mall, where they eagerly selected drones and experienced the convenience of "instant tax-refund" service.
