Every year between May 20 and 22, Grain Buds arrives as the second solar term of summer. During this period, rainfall increases, temperatures rise, and crops like wheat and others that mature in summer begin to plump up though they are not yet fully ripe. The name "Grain Buds" is derived from this phenomenon.
