Hamburg Ballet A Midsummer Night's Dream
The Hamburg Ballet is delighted to return to Beijing and to perform for Chinese audiences once again.
For this tour, we are presenting to you one of John Neumeier's most beloved and successful ballets: A Midsummer Night's Dream. Based on William Shakespeare's world-famous eponymous comedy, this ballet explores the many facets of love: its unpredictability, its power and its wonder. At times tender, at times passionate and at times simply hilarious, Neumeier's work is entertaining in the best sense of the word. His diverse musical choices provide the perfect framework for each scene, and Jürgen Rose's fanciful sets and costumes just the right amount of magic.
Love is at the core of this wonderful ballet. This very human emotion is universal and unites us all – just as the language of dance is universal and has the power to move us all. Our dancers look forward to bringing this comedy to life for you.
Date: from 28 March to 30 March
Venue: National Centre for the Performing Arts
