The Badachu Temple Fair (八大处庙会) is an important cultural event during the Spring Festival in Beijing, usually held during the Chinese New Year.

Cultural Features

Traditional Blessing Activities: During the temple fair, the eight temples in Xishan Badachu Park will ring the bell 108 times according to customs. Visitors can experience the emptiness and harmony of nature in the sound of the bell. In addition, there are wishing trees and wishing drums for visitors to express their good wishes.

Artistic Performances: The temple fair has multiple stages for traditional performances such as cross-talk, storytelling, and drumming, as well as traditional art performances such as dragon and lion dances.
