Yongning Ancient Town

Yongning Ancient Town was established in the fifth year of the Ming Dynasty's Xuan De reign. The streets and alleys follow a typical grid pattern. In the center of the town stands the Yuhuang Pavilion, built in the 18th year of the Tang Dynasty's Zhenguan era. The pavilion is over 20 meters high, three stories tall, and four-sided. Inside the pavilion, there is a two-meter-high statue of the Jade Emperor.

When visiting Yongning Ancient Town, don't miss the Yongning Market on North Street of the ancient town. It is the oldest, largest, and most vibrant market still existing in Yanqing District. The market is bustling with people, filled with sounds of bargaining and laughter. The stalls are filled with a variety of goods, such as "rolling donkey" coated in golden bean powder, fresh seasonal fruits that are irresistible, handmade mugwort cushions showcasing exquisite craftsmanship, and tasty and unique tofu stands and firepot shops. The brown sugar "guokui" at the market is also highly recommended.

Yeyahu (Wild Duck Lake)

Winter at Yeyahu offers a unique charm.

The distant, slate-colored mountains embrace the blue lake, while the equally clear blue sky stretches above. On the lakeside, golden reeds sway gently in the wind.

At sunset, Yeyahu offers a breathtaking view of the sunset, providing a perfect escape from the crowds. Here, you can experience the pure beauty of nature, which brings a sense of healing and relaxation.

Friendly Reminder:

The wind by the lake can be strong, so please dress warmly.
