"De Ling and Ci Xi" tells the story of a princess of the Qing Dynasty, De Ling, who grew up in the West and received a Western education. In the late 19th century, when China was still unaware of the West, she entered the Forbidden City, which was heavily guarded.

She was youthful and full of energy. Facing the palace members of Empress Dowager Ci Xi and Emperor Guangxu, who were eager to understand the world and were competitive, she used wisdom, sincerity, and love to awaken the beauty of the palace and interpret the integration and communication of Eastern and Western cultures.

An old and a young, a high and a low, met at this moment in history. Their conflicting and sympathetic relationship triggered a ridiculous and sad story.
